WHAT'S INCLUDED

A quick tour of TheDrivewayGear.

TheDrivewayGear is primarily about cycling in Pulaski County Virginia and the New River Valley but it encourages walking, jogging, hiking, running and river sports as well.  To learn more, browse our site and ask questions.  Discover the outdoor pleasures our community enjoys on the bicycle and on foot while exploring the New River Valley ( NRV ).

Not to be slighted, there's the New River Trail which parallels the the New River.  The trail stretches out alongside the New River between the Towns of Pulaski and Galax around 60 miles, it is an abandoned RR with the tracks being removed to become a great place for walking, jogging or mountain bike cycling.  the New River Trail Extension connects the Town of Pulaski to Galax and may be accessed at the Train Station in Pulaski.  Get a map of the NR Trail by clicking HERE.

The New River, despite it's name, is considered by some to be one of the oldest rivers in the world.  It flows in a general south to north direction, 320 miles through the state of North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

Use the "Contact Info" link at the bottom of this page to attain additional information.

  • Don't forget the "Bulletin Board" - it's where area cyclists plan and post rides.  Try it out and post your next ride.  Oh, and while your there, become a subscriber to receive a personal e-mail every time someone posts a ride or and event.
  • The "Interactive Calendar" serves as a great hard copy calendar of rides and events in the future.  When used properly, together with the Bulletin Board they become great tools for the cycling community.
